7 podcasts every business owner should be listening to

If you don’t listen to podcasts then you need to start. At digital punks, we listen to podcasts all the time and this is why you should too. Time is precious in the business world, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. You can listen to podcasts on your commute, at the gym while walking the dog or making your dinner. By doing so you are learning all of the time and staying ahead of the game. Below are 7 can’t-miss web design, marketing & business podcasts to keep you hustling.

1) Marketing over coffee.

Hosted by  John J. Wall &  Christopher S. Penn,  this podcast gives you a marketing wake-up call. They discuss social media marketing,  e-mail marketing & SEO. The show runs roughly 20 minutes and provides a clear insight into the current state of marketing.

2) The GaryVee Audio Experience

GaryVee is no stranger to the daily grind of business life. If you are looking for some inspiration on starting your own business or if you feel like you’re not getting anywhere you need this show in your life. You’ll understand what it’s like to hustle from a man that took a 3 million dollar business and turned it into a 300 million dollar business.

3) Marketing School

I love this podcast for the simple reason that it is so easy to listen too. Hosted by Neil Patel and Eric Siu, two people with an extensive wealth of marketing knowledge. The majority of their podcasts don’t run over 5 minutes making them easy to listen to at any time. They provide easy marketing advice that is easy to implement on your own.

4) This Week in Google

While Google might not give you the key to their algorithms, they do provide a lot of valuable information on how to succeed using their platform. It’s important that you keep up to date with Google for the sake of your marketing strategy. In this podcast, they discuss new products, updates and general Google news.

5) Mixergy

Most business owners don’t find success overnight. Everyone single one of us runs into difficulties along the way. Mixergy, hosted by Andrew Warner, explores the difficulties and successes that entrepreneurs had when setting up their business. He has interviewed hundreds of business owners and convinced them to reveal details about their companies that you wouldn’t normally hear about. Thanks to this podcast, I was able to avoid common pitfalls, increase my confidence and find resources to help grow my business.

6) Late Nights With Trav and Los

This podcast is great for anyone who has an interest in design. Trav & Los both work for Google’s UI department and know a thing or two when it comes to UX & UI. Although Trav hasn’t uploaded any videos for quite some time now, he has some inspirational design content on his youtube channel too.

7) WTF: Marc Maron

This podcast has nothing to do with starting your own business, however, we should all be able to relax once in a while. Burnout is real, especially in the business world. I enjoy this podcast but find one that can take your mind off of work and enjoy yourself a little.
